For many centuries the pestemal is an important part of the Ottoman bath culture. Traditionally, it is used as a loin cloth during the visit of the hamam (Turkish Bath). Due to iits fine cotton structure and therefore breathable material, the Pestemal dries quickly. Today, the pestemal is frequently used as a towel, cape or massage blanket after a shower or a wellness treatment. It also serves as an ideal travel accessoire because it is a lightweight.
